Order Cancellation and Live Plant Return Policy

At Plant by Number, we strive to process and fulfill orders promptly to ensure that your gardening and landscaping projects can start without delay. Below is our policy regarding order cancellations and the return of live plants and Garden Maps.

Order Cancellation Policy:

  • Immediate Order Processing: Orders are processed and dispatched for fulfillment immediately upon completion of payment. This efficiency in our process means that the window for canceling an order is limited.
  • Garden Maps – Ready Made Collection: For Garden Maps in our ready-made collection, we can cancel the order without penalty, provided the cancellation request is made prior to the shipment of the product. Depending on the timing of the order, shipping may occur within a few hours to 48 hours after an order is received.
  • Live Plant Orders: Due to the nature of live plants and our commitment to their health and quality, we do not accept returns on live plants. The Garden Map component of your order can be returned in accordance with our Garden Map Return Policy.

Procedure for Canceling an Order:

  • Contact Us Immediately: If you need to cancel an order, please contact us at returns@pbndesign.com as quickly as possible.
  • Live Plant Orders: For orders that include live plants, our customer service representatives will work diligently to attempt to cancel your order. However, once an order has been placed for live plants and processed by our fulfillment centers, we cannot guarantee that the order can be canceled.
  • Cancellation Window: If the plant fulfillment centers have not begun processing your order, we can cancel the order at no penalty. If the plants have already been processed for delivery, we are unable to cancel the order.

Live Plant Return Policy:

  • No Returns on Delivered Plants: Once plants have been delivered, we do not accept returns due to the delicate nature of these items.
  • Damaged or Unhealthy Plants: If the plants arrive damaged or in poor health, please refer to our Plant Guarantee Policy. Required documentation includes photographs of the damaged or unhealthy plants, a copy of the order number, and receipt. Upon review, we will issue a new order and promptly send out replacement plants at no additional cost to you.

FAQs

What do I get with a digital blueprint?

A digital blueprint is the layout in a .PDF format. If you are comfortable reading a scaled schematic and think you can handle the installation without the extra help, this option may be for you.

When I order a Garden Map, what do I get?

Garden Map is the design layout printed on our custom-made landscape fabric. Along with the printed fabric, you will receive installation instructions.

  • If you order a design from our Limited Collection and choose the option “Garden Map + Plants”, you will receive plants with your order. If you choose the option “Garden Map only”, you will receive the design printed on landscaping fabric, but no plants.
  • If you order a design from our Ready Made or Modular collections, you will only receive the design printed on landscaping fabric. These two collections do not include plants; however, you will receive a plant shopping card to help you find everything you need in the closest plant nursery or garden center.
Is this just a digital download of a landscape design template?

If you checked the “Digital Blueprint Only” box, then yes. If not, you will receive our actual Garden map, printed on our custom-made landscape fabric.

Should I start with seeds or plants?

Whether you should start your garden with seeds or mature plants depends on several factors, including your gardening goals, experience level, budget, and patience. If you have the option, we recommend you start with mature plants for several reasons:

  • Instant garden: When you start with mature plants, your garden looks established and full right from the beginning. If you’re planting trees or shrubs for shade or privacy, starting with mature plants can provide instant results.
  • Faster results: Mature plants typically produce flowers, fruits, or vegetables sooner than plants grown from seeds.
  • Less effort: Adult plants need less maintenance than seedlings. Additionally, starting from seeds often requires setting up indoor growing spaces with appropriate lighting, temperature control, and ventilation.

Is it possible to order just one or several plants included in a design?

We bundle plants to provide the best pricing possible, as well as to streamline shipping. Shipping live plants is expensive! This is why, for our Spring collection, all of the plants can only be sold as a package and can not be broken up.
